Throw in the Towel

Nov 16, 2015

The expression “throw in the towel” usually refers to someone conceding defeat. However, the Throw in the Towel drive planned as part of the annual Thanksgiving Day football game at Concord-Carlisle Regional High School will be nothing but a win for families in need, regardless of what happens on the field between the Patriots and the Bedford Buccaneers.

The Towel Drive, sponsored by the home team Patriots, will support Household Goods Inc., a local nonprofit that that provides a full range of donated furniture and household items, free of charge, to help people in need make a home.

People attending the game on Thursday, Nov. 26, at 10 a.m. are asked to bring new or gently used towels to toss into donation boxes at the ticket gates at the entrance to the field 500 Walden St. Every year, Household Goods gives out around 7,000 towels, so we can give one to every client in need. A drive like this can go a long way to help!
