A Taste for Something Good

Apr 16, 2013

Did you attend “A Taste for Something Good” last week at the Powers Gallery in Acton? If so, you know how much fun everyone had. But you may not know that this event raised somewhere in the neighborhood of $12,000 for Household Goods. Auctioneer Extraordinaire Larry Powers led the live auction for the painting that was created that evening by artist Maris Platais.

Other offerings included 2 pair of Red Sox tickets as well as a gorgeous David Yurman necklace. The servers and the bakers were Household Goods volunteers, and the baked goods were “extremely scrumptious” according to one visitor. It was an evening of food, fun, and festivity.

Every penny raised helps Household Goods, which never charges clients or the agencies that recommend them. Each day, Household Goods helps between 10 and 15 families, and events like these help keep it going— as well as our 800 volunteers!

Many thanks to all who participated, and to those who did not—well, you don’t have to wait ’til next year! Give us a call and find out what’s going on now.
